Dr Aan WhiteheadHeading up a team of 50 top speakers, the Rt. Hon. Alan Whitehead, MP, Shadow Minister for Energy & Climate Change (pictured right), joined around 400+ energy professionals at the ENERGY4POWERLIVE 2015 Conference & Networking event in London on November 17th, 9.30am - 4.30pm. "This was clearly a significant and important event for the energy sector," he comments.

Dr. Alan Whitehead, MP for Southampton Test and Shadow Energy Minister has proved a regular supporter of GMP's highly popular London-based event which has earned a significant reputation for covering the widest spectrum of independent power usage in 21st Century Europe. Dr Whitehead told the attendees at the Hilton: "Improving energy efficiency is arguably the cheapest way to meet decarbonisation goals, and also has knock-on benefits in terms of improving security of supply and reducing fuel poverty. Analysis suggests that a more ambitious approach to household energy efficiency could lead to a saving of £9 billion per annum on household energy bills. However, with the current approach under this government there remains uncertainty about the future of household energy efficiency policy in the UK. New policy thinking needs to be applied in this area. A strategy for decarbonising our power supply includes supporting do-it-yourself local energy production and an increase in the numbers of community-owned and managed wind and solar farms. Most of all, we need to freeze energy prices and tackle the broken energy market, in order to address our future energy needs and increase energy security."

Dr Dave AndrewsDr Dave Andrews (pictured right), a Conference leader and Senior Researcher for the Claverton Energy Think Tank, commented: "This year's ENERGY4POWERLIVE definitely provided key and up-to-date information about the very latest technical developments in the power industry, especially in areas such as CHP, Renewables and in Generator development. It is immediately apparent that the events also provides a gateway to help companies to establish a stronger market presence within the industry. This event has enabled key companies to reach an expanding audience of energy professionals with the latest and most advanced technical developments and strategies."

Registration figures from the ENERGY4POWERLIVE events show demonstrates that each one regularly attracts delegates and attendees from the UK, Europe and worldwide (370+ attending in 2014 - 2015 figures are significantly higher) - and is well-known as the platform to meet and network with key senior executives and also industry leaders.

Speaking for the organisers, Global Media Publishing Ltd, Publisher & Sales Director Neb Saric explains: "The success of this year's 2015 show amply demonstrates that if you are a buyer, specifier or user of products or services in the European power generation sector then the Energy4PowerLive 2015 show is the one you should attend. There is probably more business transacted in one single day here in London than over the typical 3-day timespans of the larger Europe-based power shows."

The 2015 event featured six Conferences held simultaneously, covering four key, separate elements:

* GEN-SETLive (2 Conferences) - chaired by Paul Blything of AMPS, and UKPN's Managing Editor, Aidan Turnbull, these highlighted the latest innovations in * CHP (District Heating) Live - two Conferences chaired by Ian Hargraves of Sustainable Environmental Systems Ltd and Claverton's Dave Andrews - reflected new approaches in CHP & District Heating, featuring the latest case studies & technology (2 Conference strands).

* UPSLive - organised by Cellcare technologies - this is was primarily concerned with key issues involving UPS & Telecoms as well as the closely-related traditional areas of offshore, rail & utilities.

* RENEWABLESLive - chaired by Neville Martin of Shetland Power - this discussed energy technology and current options pertaining to DH, biomess & landfill amongst the issues facing standby power.

Each Conference was backed by the welcome presence of representatives from OVER 47 leading original equipment manufacturers and power consultancy services who were on hand to demonstrate some of the most advanced products & technical services on offer.

Richard Teasdale, GMP's Publishing Director, concludes: "We launched the ENERGY4POWERLive series of Conferences in order to overcome the fact that there now exists an increasingly complex - and potentially fragmented - energy efficiency policy landscape in the UK. Energy efficiency policies have helped secure massive savings in energy consumption over the past few decades, and the government estimates that the right energy efficiency framework in the UK could save the equivalent of the output of 22 new power stations by 2020. But, despite this range of policy initiatives in place, there remains a mountain to climb if we are all to achieve the Prime Minister David Cameron's 's ambition, as set out in his February 2013 speech - 'I want to make Britain the most energy efficient country in Europe.' This is why I can tell you that the next ENERGY4POWERLIVE 2016 on the 15th November 2016 will be even bigger and better than previous events."
